Dr. Piccioni has been the sole owner of Tidewater Family Medical Care since its opening in 1991. Upon completion of his residency program and after much research, Dr. Piccioni and his wife, Joye, decided to relocate their family from New Jersey to Virginia Beach to open a private Family Practice.

Dr. Piccioni opened TFMC (then known as Family Medical Center) in 1991 in a small strip center in the Kempsville section of Virginia Beach. Dr. Piccioni started with a very small staff of three, led by Joye as his Office Manager. For many of these years, patients may have seen the Piccioni's four girls as they grew up and came in and out of the office- little did Dr. Piccioni know that they would all be joining the family business.Today, you will find all of Piccioni daughters working at our state of the art facility in Chesapeake.

Please be advised that Tidewater Family Medical Care has reviewed and updated our company policies. We will no longer care for pediatric patients and young adults whose parent/legal guardian refuse basic vaccinations as recommended by the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Family Practice.

If you agree with our policy and your child is not vaccinated or is currently under vaccinated please bring them in as soon as possible to update vaccines. If you disagree with our policy, please arrange for your child’s care with another primary care physician; this can be found by contacting your insurance company or online in the local yellow pages. We will only cover care for your child 60 days from the effective date.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter and look forward to continuing our patient-physician relationship.
